Candy Chromatography
Summary
In this activity, students will use paper chromatography to separate the colors in the dyes used
to color candies. (Please note: some candies are processed in factories with peanuts, so colored
markers may be used as an alternative if you have students with peanut allergies)

Students will gain an understanding of techniques for measuring acidity, as well as using known standards
to measure the properties of unknown solutions.
